Footdrop is a condition characterized by difficulty in lifting the front part of the foot, leading to a dragging or slapping gait. It is often caused by weakness or paralysis of the muscles responsible for dorsiflexion (raising the foot), typically due to nerve injury or neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis, or peripheral neuropathy.
